Podiatry
Nail SurgerySurgical procedures are commonly performed by portraitists to treat recurrent nail problems such as ingrown nail. An ingrown toenail is a nail that has pierced (or is pressing against) the adjacent skin of the toe causing pain and inflammation and sometimes infection. Surgery may be required when an ingrown toenail repeatedly gets infected, is continually painful, the sufferer is unable to wear shoes or the condition inhibits work, sporting or other activities.
OrthoticsPrescription orthotics are inserts for shoes that help to restore and improve foot and lower leg function by helping to correct poor posture and arch support. Good posture helps you to sustain an active lifestyle - and good body posture needs correct alignment of feet, knees, hip and back.
DiabetesDiabetics need to check their feet daily for any problems. Podiatrists will perform an annual diabetic foot check to monitor your nerves and blood flow and communicate any problems to your regular doctor. Diabetics are prone to chronic ulcers and wounds and may loose their limbs if not properly cared for. Both Juliann and Rebecca are able to look after diabetic feet and foot wounds.
General PodiatryGeneral podiatry involves the assessment and treatment of skin and nail conditions of the feet. This includes: corns and callouses, toe nail problems, tinea, plantar warts and other foot problems.
RehabilitationOur podiatrists will help you get back to doing what you want to be doing as quickly as possible. The team use the latest techniques and technology to establish a diagnosis and treatment plan for any condition of the lower leg and foot. Treatment may include, but is not limited to: padding and strapping, mobilisation and manipulation, rehabilitation with strengthening and stretching exercise programs, custom or pre-fabricated orthotics, dry needling and referrals for imaging like x-rays and ultrasounds.
PodiatryPodiatry (Chiropody) is the area of Allied Health dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and management of medical conditions and injuries of the foot, ankle and lower limb.
